Adobe is a shitty company, and we don’t like them - they are very anti-consumer. There are certain utilities that would be great to have outside of their products. What concerns us in this instance is the usage of layers in PDFs.
A fantastic utility for digital sewing patterns, PDF layers allow you to have a single document that has many different sizes for whatever pattern you’re assembling, but not have to print and decipher all of them at once.
Our solution for this use case is Qoppa Software’s PDF Studio. Its Linux installer is a shell script that you can run quite simply.
After installing it, you can open the layers pane on the left:

Then, you simply print the document!
