Matches

  • Goal is to put on a Show - get the crowd excited, but make sure you still win your match
  • Turn-based, with timing (Clair Obscur, Paper Mario, Super Mario RPG)
  • Takes place in a ring, ideally a grid-based system (Into the Breach)
  • Pulling punches deals less damage, but improves opponent’s relationship
  • Wrestling “stiff” angers the opponent but deals more damage
  • “Selling” hits makes you take less damage
  • “No-selling” makes you take more damage, but makes the crowd pop
  • Build up meter to do Spots
  • Occasional tag team matches
  • Different objectives (ladder match to Claim the Case)

  • Build up reputation to do face/heel turns
  • Build relationships with other wrestlers
  • Change your gimmick for new abilities/moves
